Intra
Next Generation Visual Programming System

Intra is a General Purpose Visual Programming Language and Environment built with a primary focus on Developer Experience.

The 2D Evolution of CLI

Intra is similar in concept to the Unix shell. For a seasoned programmer, Intra should feel like the 2D evolution of the Command Line Interface (CLI) where units' (commands) inputs and outputs (stdin/stdout/stderr) can be piped together into a graph (script).

Intra can be thought of as a re-exploration of the Unix Philosophy in the context of modern Software Engineering and Web Development.

Developer Experience First

The environment is designed to feel visual and kinesthetic, giving the perception of Direct Manipulation of Live Virtual Objects.

The programming experience is minimalistic, ergonomic, and mobile, supporting a variety of input devices. Editing can be partially expressed through Drawing, Gesture, and Voice.

The Future Vision

The Intra system is set to grow into a simple and approachable Web Operating System, which is sandboxed by default, enabling a new era of Software Sharing and Collaboration, unifying the currently fragmented Computer Experience.

Key Features
Experience the power of visual programming
Live
Live
Unit programs do not need to be compiled. The graph can be edited while it is running.
Reactive
Reactive
Units can be composed into graphs which can be fully controlled through its input/output interface.
Auditable
Auditable
Every aspect of the Unit system can be intercepted, watched, recorded and reproduced.
Components
Components
Rectangular units represent Web components which live side by side with their logical graphs.
Multimodal
Multimodal
Designed to work with a variety of input methods, devices, screen sizes and form factors.
Shareable
Shareable
Since units are sandboxed, Unit code can be safely shared with other people, a new kind of interactive media.
Typed
Typed
Only valid input output connections can be made, supplemented by inline documentation and auto-complete.
Expressive
Expressive
Unit abstracts complex Web APIs into standard to interact and easy to combine state machines.
Private
Private
Unit code runs primarily on the client side and data can be persisted on any storage of your choice.
Open Source
Open Source
Unit is the first fully visual Web programming system, Open Source first, forever.
Dataflow
Dataflow
Data can be watched as it flows through the graph, providing immediate feedback of the program state.
Meta-Programming
Meta-Programming
Unit graphs can be controlled through meta primitives, building blocks for agent automation.
Explorable
Explorable
It is possible to learn how units work just by playing with their inputs and outputs.
Structured Editing
Structured Editing
It is not possible to build invalid unit graphs or data. There are no partial broken states.
Full Stack
Full Stack
Frontend and backend functionality can be combined and debugged in the same environment.
Ergonomic
Ergonomic
Unit gesture-based system was designed to allow comfortable programming with minimal hand movement.
Tactile
Tactile
Interacting with units and data simulate real circuitry. Pins are magnetic and data is electric.
Mobile
Mobile
Unit graphical minimalism allows for practical programming on small screens, enhanced by multi-touch.
All-in-one
All-in-one
Ideate, design, build, test, launch and use, all connected by a time-saving higher-level visual language.
General
General
Any sort of Web software can be built in Unit, like a tool, a website, an automation or a server.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer
Graphs can be debugged remotely, in parallel, by multiple users, and through a variety of data channels.
Reprogrammable
Reprogrammable
Every unit software can be used, reused, integrated with, inspected and changed, all in one.
